Park City

My parents invited us to Park City to stay with them in a condo over the 24th of July. We had a really good time other than at night. It was sooo hot in our room that I felt like I was awake all night long. It's always nice to spend some quality time with the family. Having a dog is sometimes not the most convenient thing when you want to go out of town. We had the hardest time figuring out what to do with Cooper so that put a little damper on the trip. Thankfully John Shay let him stay at his house Friday and Saturday night. My mom and I did some good shopping at the Tanger Outlets. We got Leighton stocked up with 12 month clothes for winter. The other really great thing we did was go out to eat a lot. We discovered some awesome restaurants that we'd never eaten at before. Eating out is by far about my favorite thing to do.

I didn't take my camera out until the very last night so I don't have a whole lot of pics to share.

Hot Hot Hot

We took an extended weekend to St. George with our friends Jake, Jenny, and Jesse. We had such a good time. It was so hot. I think they had record tempatures. To beat the heat we did lot's of swimming and lot's of water volleyball. We also had an early morning tee time at my favorite course Red Hills. We went out to dinner at Iggys which is so much better in St George and did some BBQ'ing. I think it was a much needed getaway for all of us. Thanks guys for coming with us!

The 4th

We had an awesome 4th of July weekend. Jake and Jenny were die hard and saved us a shaded spot on the parade route. It was the first time Chad or I had ever been to it. We also went out on the lake. It didn't go quite as planned. We shut the boat off to pump up the tube and couldn't get it started again. So we sat out there for a few hours and had to get towed back in by Todd. We actually ended up still having a pretty good time. We went to Chilies after we all got cleaned up and didn't even have to wait! Of course after dinner we watched the fireworks and headed home exhausted.

We also have had my good friend Kelly out for a visit from Minnesota for the past 10 days. She just left today and we already miss her. She helped me out so much with babysitting and it was fun to have her here.

Don't worry Leighton did warm up to her very quickly.

5 Months

We are loving this stage in her little life!

Happy Fathers Day

Chad is the proud owner of BYU Football season tickets for the 2009 season.
After church I told Chad that Leighton had a surprise for him. I brought her down in this cute little Fathers Day outfit for a photo op.
Here is a picture of 2 great dads! It was fun to have my dad in town for Fathers Day. You can tell that Leighton and Cooper are going to start having problems because she loves to just grab a hold of him and pull. Thankfully he's very patient.

Rice Cereal

I've hesitated feeding Leighton rice cereal this soon only because my Doctor said their little systems deal with it better closer to six months of age, but my parents are in town and I felt brave. She loved it! We couldn't get it in her mouth quick enough and she was basically trying to feed herself. She was a cute little mess.Chad surprised us with a new life jacket for the baby and also a carrier. We packed Leighton around the house in it for awhile to test it out.

There was a really pretty rainbow that stayed around for awhile.

Friday we went camping

Camping with babies gets a little more complicated so not everyone stayed the night, but luckily Leighton ended up sleeping like a champ.
